Supportive Services for Veteran's Families (SSVF)

The Supportive Services for Veteran’s Families (SSVF) grant provides supportive services to very low-income Veteran families.  The services are for Veteran families who are 1) residing in permanent housing, 2) homeless and scheduled to become residents of permanent housing within a specific time period, or 3) exiting permanent housing within a specific time period and seeking other housing that is responsive to their needs.  The funding is provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs....  Click Here to read more

Head Start is a national early childhood development program that was initiated by the federal government in 1965. Head Start programs provide comprehensive child development for children birth to 5 years old depending upon the program option available. Coalfield CAP Programs

Energy Express is a summer program that focuses on literacy activities for program participants. Enrollees are involved in a variety of activities that include reading, arts, crafts, etc. Participants also receive take home books for their own personal use. Mentors work with a small group of children to make reading meaningful in their lives by creating an enriching environment.
